UHF reader platform for Industry 4.0

Turck's new Q300 UHF reader family with Ethernet and 2 W power promises high-performance RFID gate applications.

Connection for external antennas and I/Os
RFID users benefit above all from the platform and interface diversity of the Q300 readers. Up to four external antennas can be connected directly to the reader, which makes it much easier to set up high-performance gate applications in multiplex operation. The direct connection of triggers and signals via universal I/Os also simplifies installation. With up to 2 W output power, the readers achieve maximum read/write ranges. Their switchable antenna polarization eliminates read holes even at high power in any environment. With the Q300 family, Turck is strengthening its position as a system provider for these key Industry 4.0 technologies.

Ethernet interface with Power over Ethernet
All Q300 readers are not only connected directly to industrial controllers, ERP or other systems via their integrated Ethernet interface, but are also supplied with power via Power over Ethernet (PoE). Additional interfaces or industrial PCs in the field are not required for the Q300 family. As IP67 readers, they support the consistent separation between the production level and company IT.

Different model variants
Turck is initially launching a Codesys variant on the market. The data of a controller is made available directly on the integrated U interface of the Q300-CDS. As a multiprotocol device, the Codesys reader is directly integrated into all networks with Profinet, Ethernet/IP or Modbus TCP master. In the course of the year, Turck will initially expand the Q300 family with a variant based on a Linux platform, particularly for system integrators. Devices with Windows CE and a variant with OPC-UA will follow.
