Advancing artificial intelligence together

Helukabel is stepping up its activities in the field of artificial intelligence and is now a member of the IPAI. The innovation and collaboration platform for companies, research facilities, institutions and administration has set itself the goal of advancing applied AI through joint projects and intensive exchange.

Since its foundation in 2021, IPAI has been dedicated to networking stakeholders from research, industry, politics and society in the field of artificial intelligence. Through close cooperation between the various partners, AI technologies are to be further developed and used in a practical, application-oriented and responsible manner.

Numerous well-known companies from a wide range of industries are already members of the IPAI - including the Helukabel Group. "By joining the IPAI, we are underlining our commitment to actively shaping the future of the industry - networked, responsible and with a spirit of innovation," explains Managing Director Marc Luksch. "We see artificial intelligence as a key technology for offering our customers even smarter, more efficient solutions and new added value."

Helukabel has already successfully launched one such solution on the market with its joint venture nLine: an optical inspection system that uses AI to check extruded and cylindrical products such as cables, hoses or ropes for defects during the production process. nLine can monitor surface quality, colors and markings, among other things, even at high production speeds. Deviations are signaled and documented in real time, and thanks to its Teach & Go approach, the system can achieve 100% inspection density and traceability for any suitable product within a short period of time. Users can thus significantly reduce the error rate in their production and avoid complaints.

As a member of the IPAI, Helukabel would like to implement projects like this more frequently in future, confirms Marc Luksch: "Our goal is to use artificial intelligence to rethink industrial connectivity - with smart solutions that optimize processes, increase quality and accelerate innovation. We also want to use access to a top-class AI network to drive forward our own digital transformation in a targeted manner and thus position ourselves for the future."
