New servo cables for cable drag chains
Helukabel is expanding its range of 'Heluchain' cables for highly dynamic use in energy supply chains to include the 'Heluchain Topserv 201-PVC UL/CSA' and 'Heluchain Topserv 211-PUR UL/CSA' servo cables, which are particularly suitable for gliding applications with long travel distances, for example in handling or gantry systems.
The two cables are designed for connecting servomotors in drive technology. The orange servo cables have an additional shielded wire pair for this purpose, which is intended for the motor's temperature controller or brake. With a minimum bending radius of 7.5xd (outer diameter), the highly flexible cables from Helukabel are particularly suitable for dynamic applications such as energy guiding chains. Users can choose between two outer sheath materials: The more cost-effective PVC offers high durability even with permanent movement. In contrast, PUR is the ideal solution for applications where oil resistance, low temperatures or freedom from halogens are required. Both cable variants have a shield with 85% coverage and a flat braiding angle to prevent EMC interference. One reason for the durability of the cables is the pressure-extruded inner sheath. This fills the gaps in the stranding so that the cores are guided precisely in the longitudinal direction and the overall shield has a stable contact surface in the bend. According to the manufacturer, this means that the cables can easily withstand millions of bending cycles in practice, even in extreme applications. Both cables are available with main cores from 1.5 to 6 mm² cross-section.
