The Rittal plant in Haiger is ready

Here and there, a lone construction fence still stands on the site of the Rittal plant in Haiger. But not for much longer: construction fences and cranes are gradually being dismantled. After the Rittal Innovation Center and the Global Distribution Center, the new plant building is now officially completed.

Not Shanghai, not Chicago: With the largest investment in the company's history, Haiger is becoming the location of the future for Rittal. The authorities have put the Haiger plant through its paces - safety, fire protection, escape routes. The result: The construction work has been officially completed and the permit to operate the plant has been granted: "We were able to complete the construction within the planned time and cost framework and there were no objections from the authorities," reports Carsten Röttchen, Managing Director Production at Rittal.

But finished doesn't always mean finished: the interior work is now beginning on the plant, which is set to become the most modern factory for the production of control cabinets in the world: "We will install over 100 high-tech machines and system components before production can start - that's the next mammoth task our team has to tackle," says Röttchen.

Together with the Rittal Innovation Center and the Global Distribution Center, Haiger will become a showcase location for the future. A total of almost 1,000 people will be employed in Haiger. Rittal is investing more than 250 million euros in the region - the largest investment in the company's history, according to its own figures. Production will start on 24,000 square meters in 2018. From 2019, around 9,000 enclosures per day will roll off the production line.
