The Blechexpo / Schweisstec trade fair duo from November 5 to 8, 2019 in Stuttgart will showcase process expertise in the processing of sheet metal, pipes and profiles. Products and services relating to thermal and mechanical processing as well as welding, joining and connection technology will be on display.
The jury and editorial team presented the handling awards for the 6th time on the evening of October 8. The expert jury selected 12 winners in four categories. For the first time, they also honored the best start-up in the competition. Another premiere is the reader award.
Feeder, six-axis and Scara robots
Epson will be showcasing its Scara and six-axis robots as well as automation components in practical applications at Motek. A new vibratory feeder will be presented at the stand, which will be available in two versions from October 2019.
Trade fair premiere for the IHE enclosure series from Torwegge, which have a load capacity of 700 kg. There will also be an innovation from the AGV sector: following its relaunch, the TORsten transport robot has become significantly faster at 1.2 m/s.
Small shock absorbers and structural dampers
Good brakes are needed when driving fast. Users of linear drives have a wide range of components and system solutions to choose from: on the one hand, hydraulic damping elements such as small shock absorbers for more demanding solutions and, on the other, more cost-effective products such as structural dampers for simpler tasks. Two practical examples from ACE shock absorbers illustrate that there are suitable solutions for practically all applications that allow even fast processes to run smoothly.

Rutronik offers the ultra-low-power multiprotocol module MS88SF2 from Minew. It is based on the short-range radio microcontroller SoC nRF52840 from Nordic. The module can be operated with the Bluetooth 5.0, ZigBee 3.0, Thread and ANT radio protocols as well as with proprietary 2.4 GHz stacks.
Powder for additive manufacturing

In the NRW lead market project AddSteel, new, functionally adapted steel materials for additive manufacturing will be developed over the next three years. A central component of the project is the qualification of the developed materials for the metallic 3D printing process Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) at the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT in Aachen.

Torwegge is presenting the IHE enclosure series for the first time at Motek. With a load capacity of 700 kilograms, the components are particularly suitable for use in warehouses and assembly halls where heavy goods need to be transported.
