For the fifth time, everything at Formnext revolves around additive manufacturing. Even in the run-up to the trade fair, everything is set for growth: more exhibitors, more space and a variety of special topics.
Gripping, moving, depositing - all this is unthinkable in automated processes without the right gripper. The vacuum specialist Schmalz therefore develops flexible systems and supports the user in selecting and configuring the right components: a challenge because the number of variants is constantly increasing and batch sizes are converging towards one.

With Luvocom 3F Filament, the Lehvoss Group is presenting its own range of 3D printing filaments at this year's Formnext. Four products are offered based on the polymers PAHT and PET, two of which are carbon fiber-reinforced variants.

The Technical University of Munich (TUM), Oerlikon, GE Additive and Linde are jointly establishing a cluster for additive manufacturing with the aim of researching and developing additive manufacturing technologies at a single location.
3,022 kilometers across the Australian desert using only the power of the sun - that is the challenge of the World Solar Challenge. One of its participants is Team Sonnenwagen from Aachen. When developing their solar car, the students relied on the lightweight, wear-resistant and lubricant-free iglidur plain bearing technology made from durable tribo-polymers from igus.

Powder handling. With Piab's vacuum conveyors, the production powder can be easily transported to the 3D printing systems in the required quantity - without any fine dust pollution for the employees.

Stratasys will showcase a range of tough, temperature and chemical resistant FDM thermoplastics, including Antero 840CN03, Diran 410MF07 and ABS-ESD7. These materials are suitable for high temperatures and demanding manufacturing conditions.
Stratasys' innovations at the Formnext trade fair will include the F120 3D printer from the F123 series and the latest PolyJet 3D printers. Stratasys customers from the aerospace and railroad industries will also be presenting their additive manufacturing applications at the Formnext conference.

With the TUM.Additive action agenda, the Technical University of Munich is initiating a comprehensive research focus on additive manufacturing. Together with high-tech partners from industry, it is founding the "Bavarian Additive Manufacturing Cluster" with the aim of establishing Bavaria as a leading economic region for digital manufacturing technologies.
