The Classmate Costpilot software from Simus Systems closes a digitalization gap for machine and plant manufacturers: cost information from various digital sources is brought together in a clear and flexible structure and continuously updated.
Now the controlling of product development projects is successful. The ongoing project calculation automatically obtains the necessary information from various cost sources and displays it in a flexible structure based on parts lists. The quality of the cost information can be increased from estimated values, empirical values and expected manufacturing costs to offer and contract prices. Values once imported from ERP systems can be updated automatically. This improves the accuracy of the calculation as the development project progresses. The transparent presentation opens up many options for intervention and enables those involved to limit costs at an early stage. If target costs are defined, deviations and their causes can be uncovered. The browser-based interface offers expandable description fields, a 3D viewer, and access to attachments and related files. The software integrates with relevant product development systems and enables a direct jump, for example to processing a material master in the SAP ERP system. Procurement and production thus gain a platform that combines an overview and direct access to a common database.
