Industrial communication is deepened

Sotronik is the official Qualified Embedded Software Integration Partner of Hilscher Gesellschaft für Systemautomation. Sotronik is thus expanding and deepening its expertise in the field of industrial communication, while users of net-X technology in Switzerland gain a competent partner to solve their challenges.

When it comes to implementing Real-Time Ethernet systems such as Ether-CAT, Ethernet/IP, Profinat or Sercos III, the multi-protocol-capable network controllers from Hilscher's net-X series quickly come into play. However, network controllers and protocol firmware alone do not make a certified device. The application effort of a design-in is often underestimated, especially if there is no or only minimal knowledge of the corresponding Real-Time Ethernet systems.

System partnership concept

Successful implementation requires integrators with the appropriate know-how. This is why Hilscher has been pursuing the concept of system partners for years to support its customers in the implementation of net-X-based communication systems. The cooperation with Sotronik as a new Qualified Embedded Software Integration Partner is an integral part of this strategy.

Sotronik is an engineering office for technical software and electronics based in Technopark Winterthur. Sotronik has been developing applications and devices in various industries together with its customers since 2000. Experienced engineers solve their tasks efficiently using modern tools and methods. Sotronik already has experience with communication systems at embedded level and therefore fits into the Hilscher partner program. Sotronik has been successfully trained on the net-X network controllers, protocol stacks and analyzers and is now available for design-in projects.

Integration Meets Reality

OT meets IT – the two worlds are meant to converge, data is meant to flow, and production is meant to become smart. Yet the reality in industry often remains stubbornly contradictory: while systems have long been technically interconnected, they...
