Industrial image processing
New and optimized software features
MVTec launches Progress Release 20.05 of the Halcon software.
It offers new features and revised technologies. For example, the barcode reader contains an enhanced algorithm that increases the decoding rate when reading codes with very thin bars. In addition, the training for all deep learning technologies can now be carried out on a CPU. This means that standard industrial PCs without a powerful GPU can also be used for this process.
The generic Box Finder has also been improved. The Grad-CAM-based heatmap can also be calculated on the CPU without any significant loss of speed. In addition, anomaly detection has been significantly improved. Surface-based 3D matching can now also use features such as small holes to increase the accuracy and robustness of the matching result.
