New representative of the Siemens branch in Mannheim
Carsten Koch has taken over the role of representative of the Siemens AG Mannheim branch. He succeeds Jürgen Britzius, who is taking early retirement after 37 years with the company.
In his role as a representative of the branch, Jürgen Britzius had a particular influence on cooperation with regional associations, local politicians and regional opinion leaders. In doing so, he contributed to the sustainable connection between business and society in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region.
Focus on transformation
Carsten Koch looks back on a long career at Siemens AG. He has extensive experience in strategic business development, sales and change management.
Most recently, he was Head of Business Intelligence & Transformation at Siemens Smart Infrastructure Germany in Frankfurt am Main from 2016 to 2023. In this role, he was responsible for the strategic fields of action of the unit and the Regional Solution & Service organization and played a key role in driving the further development of the business units.
Stations within the company
Koch began his career at Siemens AG in 2010 as a trainee in the Sales & Service department in Frankfurt.
In 2011, he moved to Fire Safety & Security Sales at the Mannheim branch. His focus there was on the security business, the strategic addressing of cities and customer development in the branch network.
In 2014, he returned to Frankfurt and took on the position of Business Development Officer at Siemens Building Technologies. The focus was on strategic business development and supporting the sales and service organization.
The experience he gained there formed the basis for his subsequent management role in Business Intelligence & Transformation. Koch has been Head of Area Management Stuttgart in the Buildings business unit of Siemens Smart Infrastructure since 2023.
Academic education
Koch laid his academic foundation with a dual course of study at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Mannheim, which he completed from 2007 to 2010. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with a focus on sales and marketing.
Role as regional representative
In his new role, Koch wants to further intensify cooperation with business, associations and politics in the region.
"Siemens has been firmly connected to the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region for 135 years and is well networked as an industrial and social partner," says the 38-year-old manager. "In my new role as a representative of Siemens AG, I would like to further promote this close relationship with the region, strengthen economic and social coexistence and help shape the future of the region."
Focus on technology and transformation
"Having worked at Siemens AG for many years, I know how crucial it is to develop technologies that offer real added value for everyday life," continued Koch. "Thanks to our broad portfolio - from automation and drive technology to digitalization and intelligent infrastructure - we enable our customers to successfully shape their transformation and operate more sustainably."
Anchoring in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region
Siemens AG has been closely associated with the city and the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region since the founding of a district office in 1891. The area covered by the branch office corresponds to the regional extent.
The Mannheim branch sells products, systems, solutions and services from the Siemens Digital Industries and Siemens Smart Infrastructure divisions.
