Plug-and-play scara robot
With the Codian SR, B&R is expanding its portfolio of open robot modules and integrated, machine-oriented robotics solutions in the Codian series to include Scara kinematics. The new series enables fast, articulated movements with four degrees of freedom, making it ideal for tasks such as pick-and-place, loading and unloading, assembly and dispensing, where both speed and repeatability are required in a compact space.
The new Scara models complement the existing Codian Delta product range and extend the range of applications to include high-speed handling with lateral offset or where overhead installation is restricted. The models are particularly easy to install in small spaces alongside linear and planar product handling systems and handle payloads from 3 to 65 kg with high repeatability. The Codian SR range includes models suitable for clean rooms. They enable compact, powerful handling with undisturbed airflow in sensitive environments such as semiconductor or pharmaceutical production.
To ensure high flexibility, the Codian SR models are available either as open robot modules or together with B&R controllers and software as an integrated Machine-Centric Robotics (MCR) solution. The new Scara models are also integrated into B&R's open software platform mapp Robotics.
