The system manufacturer has successfully entered the market with the development of a new hybrid gripper module for precise and gentle wheel handling. The Eisenmann Robotics team is also working on solutions for the intelligent integration of robots and application technology in other areas of application in the paint shop, such as high-quality seam sealing and cavity sealing.

Handling with flexible hybrid gripper

When developing the new hybrid gripper system, Eisenmann drew on its in-depth expertise and experience from more than 200 installed applications worldwide. The use of the new Eisenmann hybrid gripper system offers a flexible and energy-saving solution to increase and sustainably secure the efficiency of our customers' production.

Modular design and flexible drive technology

The new gripper modules correspond to the wheel sizes of classic combustion engines as well as electric vehicles and are guided via low-maintenance linear guides. The drive technology is new and can be either pneumatically controlled or purely electrically flange-mounted as a servo drive. Conversion is possible at any time according to individual capacities and production output. A completely enclosed housing, in which all moving parts are integrated, also ensures a high level of process reliability in the powder coating sector. Thanks to its low weight, it is compatible with standard robot models from leading manufacturers.

Custom-fit design for individual applications

The standard modules can be individually combined to create single to five-fold grippers. The components in contact with the wheels are easily interchangeable and are selected according to the intended use. Sophisticated control technology enables the modules to be approached gently, ensuring careful handling of the wheel surfaces and reducing material consumption. The hybrid gripper also impresses with its high accuracy in pre-positioning to 1 mm.

"Our goal is to consistently increase the degree of automation in production with the help of clever, AI-supported robotics concepts and thus ensure sustainable efficiency in our customers' production. As a German company, we see this as a joint opportunity to strengthen our internationally recognized market positions and preserve important jobs at European locations." Jörg Robbin, Head of Research & Development.

Thanks to the high flexibility of the standard module, the gripper can also be designed for steel versions of larger and heavier workpieces in a second step. This means that other markets such as the agricultural and construction machinery industry can be supported with automated solutions. Eisenmann offers its customers a globally available service and short delivery times as well as support from its own robot programmers.
