Taiwan among the four largest international exhibitors at EMO
With 121 exhibitors, Taiwan is one of the four largest international participants at EMO Hannover 2025, the world's leading trade fair for production technology.
The strong presence underlines Taiwan's importance in the global mechanical engineering industry and its role as a driver of innovation in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), smart manufacturing and sustainable manufacturing.
Leading companies from Taiwan presented their latest innovations at the trade fair, including AI controls, smart factory solutions and digital twin technologies. The Taiwan pavilion served as a central point of contact for visitors who wanted to find out about the latest product developments. In a series of presentations, 13 selected companies used specific applications to demonstrate how competitive Taiwan's mechanical engineering industry is in an international comparison.
"EMO Hannover 2025 is not only a showcase of new technologies, but also a platform for global industry dialog. Taiwan's intelligent machinery industry continues to focus on AI integration, green manufacturing and international cooperation, strengthening its role in the next generation of global value chains," summarized James Huang, Chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
David Chuang, Chairman of the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), also emphasized the technological advances: "From aerospace to automotive, from complete machines to components: Taiwan's AI-powered machine tool industry is developing rapidly and is poised to play a key role in the global transformation of manufacturing. This was impressively demonstrated at the fair."
In addition, Cynthia Kiang, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), emphasized during her visit to the fair that Taiwan is specifically supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the introduction of AI technologies - especially in the area of predictive maintenance and quality control - and is setting up international service centers in parallel to further strengthen foreign trade and investment.
EMO Hannover 2025 attracted a total of 80,000 trade visitors and around 1,600 exhibitors from 45 countries. Taiwan consistently uses leading international trade fairs to showcase its technological strengths in the face of global competition. The next appearances are planned for TMTS 2026 in Taichung (AI Empowerment, Smart & Sustainable Manufacturing) and TIMTOS 2027 in Taipei (AI and Smart Manufacturing). These are regarded as important international mechanical engineering trade fairs where Taiwan can further expand its leading position in global mechanical and plant engineering.
Several of the innovations presented are also winners of the Taiwan Excellence Award - a globally recognized seal of quality that underlines Taiwan's strength in smart manufacturing.
