Procentec devices now under the Anybus label
Anybus can now also perform network diagnostics
HMS Networks has assigned its network diagnostics product series, which previously bore the logo of the acquired company Procentec, to its main brand Anybus. The product series can be seen as "Anybus Diagnostics" at the Hannover Messe. Thilo Döring, Managing Director of HMS Industrial Networks in Karlsruhe, provides more information in an interview with Andreas Knoll.
Until now, the Anybus product brand has been known for industrial communication solutions in the form of ready-to-install interfaces, network gateways and wireless solutions. Now you are presenting the "Anybus Diagnostics" product line at the Hannover Messe. How did this come about?
We acquired 70% of Procentec some time ago - in October 2020 and then completely in April 2022. Procentec is based in Rotterdam and has a branch in Karlsruhe. The company offers solutions for network monitoring and diagnostics - for classic fieldbuses such as Profibus and industrial Ethernet networks.
These include the Osiris network diagnostics software, the Atlas family for permanent network monitoring, the Mercury handheld network diagnostics device - a combination of laptop and tablet - and the EtherTAP monitoring interfaces for Ethernet networks and ComBricks for Profibus. The integration of these solutions into our Anybus product line was the next logical step.
What advantages does this offer your customers?
The big advantage for our customers is that they have us at their side as a technology partner who can now handle all aspects of industrial communication - from network planning to operation and maintenance. Anybus communication solutions make it possible to integrate machines and automation devices into industrial networks such as Profinet and Profibus. A key focus is on cybersecurity to ensure not only robust and reliable, but also secure communication.
With the Anybus Diagnostics product line, we now also have analysis tools in the Anybus portfolio that can be used to permanently monitor and analyze networks. Problems resulting, for example, from natural wear and tear due to cable breaks or other mechanical stresses or from defective automation devices are detected at an early stage and countermeasures can be taken quickly. We also offer network and protocol training and seminars such as Certified Engineer and Certified Network Installer for Profibus and Profinet to provide the necessary expertise for troubleshooting.
In addition, our latest software SNAP (Synthetic Neurologic Analytic Processor), a self-learning tool, supports our customers in the independent and automatic analysis and interpretation of the most probable cause of a fault.
Where can interested parties obtain further information on the Anybus Diagnostics product line?
The product line is one of our trade fair highlights, and we will be happy to answer any questions about it at our stand. On Monday, April 17, at 4 p.m., there will be an official announcement with a small drink, to which we cordially invite all interested parties.
