EtherCAT solutions for flexible topologies

The EtherCAT junctions of the EJS series are designed to make industrial networks more flexible and efficient. They support the configuration of star, line, ring and tree topologies and thus enable a modular connection of EtherCAT devices. Two power inputs allow the connection of a redundant power supply unit that maintains operation if the main supply fails. With a robust metal housing, high electromagnetic compatibility and a wide temperature range, the junctions are designed for continuous operation in demanding industrial environments. Certifications from the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) and the EtherCAT Test Center ensure seamless integration into existing networks.

The EtherCAT gateways of the MGate 5216 series support both Modbus RTU/ASCII clients and MicroPython for programming your own serial protocols. Several serial devices can be connected to an EtherCAT host via two serial, software-configurable ports. A web console facilitates configuration, monitoring and diagnostic tools support troubleshooting, and safety functions based on IEC 62443-4-2 provide protection at network level.

First Ethernet APL switches on the PLC

Moxa will be presenting its Ethernet APL switches for the first time at the trade fair. Ethernet APL (Advanced Physical Layer) transmits data and power over a single connection and enables high-speed communication at 10 Mbit/s in full-duplex mode over distances of up to 1,000 meters. The technology is suitable for scalable industrial networks and can be used in hazardous areas.

Presentations on process automation and OT security

Moxa will also be giving several presentations at the SPS:

  • "How APL is transforming process automation and TSN with OPC UA FX is becoming a challenger in the PLC sector"
By: Philipp Jauch, Industry Market Manager, Industrial Automation, Moxa Europe
    Date: 27.11.2025, 11:00 a.m., SPS Stage in Hall 6

  • "Process X & NOA - The digital revolution in the process industry"
By: Hermann Berg, Head of Industrial Automation Segment, and Philipp Jauch, Moxa Europe
Date: 25.11.2025, 14:15, Technology Stage powered by VDMA/ZVEI in Hall 3

  • "CRA for machine builders - How OT network solutions help to become compliant"
    By: Philipp Jauch, Moxa Europe
Date: 25.11.2025, 16:25, Technology Stage powered by VDMA/ZVEI in Hall 3

Portfolio for secure OT networks

In addition to the new products, Moxa will be showcasing its existing portfolio of switches, firewalls, intrusion prevention systems and serial-to-Ethernet gateways. The products support numerous protocols (including PROFINET, MRP, EtherCAT, OPC UA FX) and are IEC 62443-4-2 compliant, so that industrial cybersecurity requirements such as NIS-2 and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) can be implemented. The serial-to-Ethernet gateway portfolio enables the integration of existing systems into modern OT networks.
