Cybertronic solutions for a digitalized industry

In the year of the company's 75th anniversary, Wittenstein's trade fair appearance was themed "Shaping the world of cybertronic motion".

The focus was on cybertronic and mechatronic drive technology in the context of advancing digitalization in all key industrial innovation segments. With the aim of helping to shape the digital transformation in drive technology and mechanical engineering, the functionality of selected mechatronic products and systems - with integrated electronics, sensors and firmware - is being transformed into cybertronic products and systems that can communicate and network with each other. Gearboxes were shown that are capable of communication thanks to Cynapse functionality and thus lay the foundation for smart services, new digital business models and innovative future technologies - for example, the application in Oceanergy's Kite Hydrogen Ships for the production of green hydrogen.

One highlight was the safety-certified Cyber Simco Drive 2 servo controller with Profisafe interface; the interface makes an important contribution to the "Next Level Safety Architecture" by reducing the complexity of safety and control technology and cutting the time and costs involved in commissioning and servicing. It also simplifies the configuration and documentation of the safety architecture.

At Wittenstein Galaxie, the two application and performance-optimized gearbox series Galaxie robustness line and Galaxie accuracy line were presented, as well as digital twin concepts based on them. Wittenstein motion control presented a redundant AC servo drive especially for off-shore natural gas extraction. The special feature of the all-electric actuator is that it can be integrated into the condition monitoring and predictive maintenance of the production station from a depth of 3,000 meters. The subsidiary Attocube Systems presented the IDS3010, an ultra-compact three-axis displacement sensor for high-precision applications in the nano range with an integrated web server that can be digitally integrated into the operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) of machines and production systems.
