ZVEI position paper

Study sees electrical and digital industry as key growth driver until 2035

The electrical and digital industry has the greatest growth potential of all German industrial sectors. This is shown by a recent study by IW Consult and the BDI. In this context, the ZVEI is calling for better political framework conditions and is presenting an "Agenda for the industry of tomorrow". The focus is on automation, artificial intelligence, energy technology, microelectronics and defense.

Circular economy in the solar industry

Solar modules supply electricity for decades - and then often end up as hazardous waste. The Magdeburg-based cleantech company Solar Materials wants to change this and is relying on industrial robotics from ABB. Five six-axis IRB 6700 robots are now automating the first steps of the recycling process, which allows up to 98% of the raw materials to be recovered - a significant step forward for sustainability in the industry.

Injection molded parts packaged autonomously

A plastics processor had to provide a system for the automatic removal of injection-molded parts, including a removal handling system, at short notice in order to meet a customer's requirement to place ordered parts into packaging in the correct position. A standardized and reliable automation solution with robot and tray stacker now does this job reliably.

Automatica 2025

Peak visitor numbers

From June 24 to 27, Automatica 2025 in Munich demonstrated the solutions that intelligent automation and robotics offer for the challenges of the future. A total of around 47,500 visitors from more than 90 nations gathered information from around 800 exhibitors from 40 countries.
