Industrial trucks with side seat
Ergonomics from the side
Following the introduction of stand-on and sit-on pallet trucks as well as double-deck loaders with side and front standing positions, Linde is now introducing models with a sideways driver's seat.
What they all have in common is high traction and stability, a choice between lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries and Tipcontrol for controlling the driving and lifting functions.
The seat plays a major role in a comfortable workplace for all industrial trucks. To enable the driver to adjust the seat to his body measurements as well as possible, the backrest angle, distance to the control panel and weight of Linde trucks can be adjusted using levers underneath the seat. Seat heating is also available. A sturdy, padded grab handle and the adjustable floor plate make getting into the vehicle very comfortable. During work, the padded armrest, the easy-to-reach operating levers of the Tipcontrol, the steering wheel and the padded knee protection further contribute to high comfort and low fatigue. The Tipcontrol is a new development - it is a handle and control lever in one and can be installed on the right or left side of the control console on many models. The operator controls the drive and lift functions sensitively and simultaneously using thumb and forefinger. The switches are easy to operate even when wearing gloves. The large, color multifunction display provides an overview of all important vehicle statuses: For example, the battery charge status can be read, as can the remaining operating hours until the next service check.
Three autonomous braking systems protect the driver in various situations: The vehicle brakes automatically as soon as the driver either releases the drive switch or leaves the range of the dead man's switch. The third option is the emergency stop switch, which activates the electromechanical brake. The seat position at 90 degrees to the direction of travel provides the operator with a good view when driving forwards and backwards. This allows the operator to steer the appliance confidently past racks and pallets or on longer routes through gates and over ramps. The panoramic mirror, which is available as an option for the seat units, makes even the last blind spot around the vehicle visible.
Performance and energy consumption are proportional: more energy is consumed when the power demand is high. This is why the new devices allow the maximum driving speed with and without load to be preset. This allows customers to decide for themselves how to configure their device. Possible values are between eight and twelve kilometers per hour; changes can be made at any time via the service settings.
Users can also choose between lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries: With lead-acid batteries, there is a choice of capacities between 345 and 500 ampere hours, which have been optimized for lateral battery replacement. Alternatively, there is a choice of Li-ion batteries, which are suitably integrated into the vehicles and are recommended for intensive use in two- or multi-shift operation, according to the manufacturer.
