Fischertechnik simulates Industry 4.0
Fischertechnik is presenting factory models to simulate Industry 4.0 at the Hannover Messe. The manufacturer of the well-known construction kits is used worldwide in companies, vocational schools and universities to demonstrate digital transformation. The models are also used within an official cooperation with software manufacturer SAP.
According to a study by Bitkom Research, high investment costs are the biggest hurdle for 75 percent of all companies when introducing Industry 4.0. "We can counteract this with fischertechnik because our factory models accurately depict how Industry 4.0 works. This enables people to understand the concrete opportunities of digitalization and decision-makers can avoid bad investments," says Guido Schubert, Head of Industrial Sales at fischertechnik.
The models are also used in research and teaching as well as in training and further education. The SAP University Competence Center Magdeburg has developed an Industry 4.0 / IoT teaching and learning environment to convey the current key points of digitally networked production.
With the help of the factory simulation, a portable simulation model was created that clearly illustrates these focal points and is used at various educational institutions. The scenario provides an insight into the entire digital production process, from the customer order and sensor-monitored production to the completion of the product and feedback to the linked business software.
At the Hannover Messe, the company will be presenting its factory simulation at the stand of teaching materials provider Christiani in hall 16, stand number H11. In addition, fischertechnik will be presenting its factory simulation as an event partner in the Production & Logistics Forum 2018 by automotiveIT. A representative from fischer Consulting will also be available at the forum stand. The consulting company supports companies and authorities in matters of lean management and offers seminars on the introduction of Industry 4.0 along the entire value chain. kp
