Mobile scanner

Scanned more efficiently, faster on vacation

Airport processes have to run smoothly, and mobile scanners from Cipherlab help to improve processes, minimize delays and overcome challenges during boarding and the like.

More people are using airplanes every year. According to the Federal Statistical Office, 117.6 million people took off from the 24 largest airports in Germany last year. The choice of the right handheld scanner plays an important role in providing the best possible service to these 322,000 passengers per day, documenting baggage information and comparing ticket data. Cipherlab, solution provider in the field of Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC), has compiled the most important mobile scanning devices to support airport processes. Innovative technologies help to improve processes at German airports.

Efficient scanning of flight tickets: Shortly before boarding, things can get tight and stressful. An omnidirectional and handy device such as the 2200 series presentation scanner from Cipherlab is ideal for ensuring that the tickets of all passengers are scanned easily and without any problems and that there is no disruption or even flight delays. It is a particularly robust device and enables fast, high-quality scanning from different angles: for example, its integrated adjustable stand allows it to be tilted 40 degrees forwards and 15 degrees backwards to support various applications in confined environments. Ground staff no longer have to bend to capture data.

Capturing barcodes for sports and bulky baggage: delays at the check-in counter or when checking in baggage can be a source of frustration, especially when things need to move quickly. The suitcase has already been checked in, but the code on the child's buggy, which is to be taken to the plane, has been creased? This is where a robust, small and flexible device is needed. The 2200 series from Cipherlab is particularly suitable for use in confined and stressful areas thanks to its ergonomic design and omnidirectional capabilities.

Shopping in the duty free store: Handheld scanners are also used in the various stores at the airport. The same applies here: the handier, more robust and more powerful the device, the better for a smooth process. If you want to quickly buy a snack or a souvenir for the family before departure, waiting too long can even mean missing the flight due to slow or faulty devices. The 2200 series presentation scanner offers a scan rate of 60 scans per second and reads all standard 1D and 2D formats.

This device can also precisely read low-contrast barcodes: poorly printed labels or reflective surfaces on labels or LCD displays are no problem. Thanks to the UHD RFID read function, the 2200 series reads RFID tags from a distance of 20 centimetres and identifies products, which speeds up the payment process. To avoid additional acquisition costs, the 2D device can also be used to deactivate EAS labels - thus further improving productivity. Until now, two devices were usually required, one for scanning and one for deactivating the labels. Cipherlab combines both functions in one device.

Inventory checking: Even the processes that take place in the background in everyday airport life, yet contribute to a seamless whole, must be well orchestrated. The mobile touchscreen computer from the RS31 series therefore offers options for barcode and data capture as well as numerous wireless communication options, which can be used to check the availability of goods in just a few clicks and seconds.

The sales assistant no longer has to disappear into the store when talking to a passenger who is quickly looking for swimwear for their vacation, but can access stock digitally and tell them directly whether the desired bikini is available or not. If the handheld is specially configured, the customer can even use the touchscreen in the changing room to check whether the desired item is available in a different color or size. The small 1662 and 1664 devices with their Bluetooth laser scanners, on the other hand, are particularly suitable for inventory measures in airport stores. as
