Vienna Trade Fair
Smart Automation successfully completed
Smart Automation, Intertool and C4I: Two established trade fairs paired with a newcomer made Messe Wien an industry hotspot from May 15 to 17 and 18 (Intertool). More than 450 exhibitors from Austria and abroad showcased their innovations and the latest products, systems and services for industrial production. They attracted a total of 21,861 trade visitors from Austria and abroad (8.7%), which corresponds to a 1.5% increase in visitors compared to 2016.
The newly added C4I trade fair focuses on the major future topic of digitalization in the industry and thus conclusively links the topics of industrial production and automation in the direction of Industry 4.0.
Strong performance by the domestic industry
"With the synergetic combination of the three strong individual trade fairs, we can offer the industry an innovation, information and communication platform that comprehensively presents current and future trends and developments. The impressive trade fair presence of the domestic industry will definitely further increase the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector," says Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein, CEO of Reed Exhibitions. Discussion rounds, talks, congresses, forums and special shows rounded off the program.
Digitalization is considered important
Around 160 exhibitors presented their latest offerings for industrial automation at Smart Automation Vienna, with Festo, Sick, Lenze, Eaton and Murrelektronik exhibiting in Vienna for the first time. Among the 40 exhibitors at the first edition of C4I were prominent names such as SAP, Kapsch Business Com, Kaspersky Labs, Tele2 IoT, Hitachi Vantara, ACP IT Solutions, Techsoft, Barracuda Networks and TTTech. It is interesting to note that in the visitor survey, 72.2% described the digitalization of production processes as very important for the future success of the company and almost as many also rated the presentation of digitalization processes at the trade fair as very important.
The next industry event on the agenda is the regular Linz edition of Smart Automation, which will take place at the Design Center from 14 to 16 May 2019. am
