Contact joins Smart Engineering research association

PLM provider Contact Software has joined the Smart Engineering research association. The association, based at Chemnitz University of Technology, is an association of PLM experts from science, industry and IT and aims to support the development of smart products and services across the entire product life cycle in terms of end-to-end digital value creation. To this end, scientists and industry representatives are researching new ways for interdisciplinary collaboration in companies.

"The digital transformation is increasingly running like a red thread through industrial value creation processes," says Dr. Patrick Müller from Contact Software. "Adapting IT to this in development is absolutely relevant to competition." The Smart Engineering initiative relies on scientifically sound joint research with a focus on practical transfer.

This is reflected in the composition of its members. Whether mechanical engineering informatics, virtual product development or manufacturing technology - many excellent research institutes from all over Germany are involved from the university environment.
