Smart Automation

Industry Week in Vienna

The three trade fairs Smart Automation, C4I and Intertool will take place in Vienna in mid-May. Companies and visitors alike benefit from the synergies between the three events. The trade fairs are attended by prominent figures and demonstrate the importance of the industry for Austria.

From 15 to 17 May, Messe Wien will once again be the venue and focus of Austrian industry: Intertool, the trade fair for industrial manufacturing, and Smart Automation Austria, the trade fair for industrial automation, will be complemented for the first time by C4I, Connectivity for Industry, as a platform for the digitalization of the industrial value chain. "The idea of including the topic of IT in the trade fair platform with its own event arose from the market," says Category Manager Alexander Eigner.

It was obvious to expand the existing synergies. "C4I provides the perfect setting for this," continues Eigner. Well-known exhibitors such as SAP, Kapsch Business Com, Kaspersky Labs, Tele2 IoT, Hitachi Vantara, ACP IT Solutions, Techsoft, Barracuda Networks and TTTech will be exhibiting in a central location in Hall A. In total, the organizer Reed expects around 40 exhibitors at the first C4I event. The offer will be supplemented by showcases with exciting topics from the field of digitalization.

Smart automation still on the rise

Reed can also look forward to increasing demand from exhibitors at Smart Automation. The success of the last edition has convinced many exhibitors to take part in the capital city as well as Linz in 2018. Festo, for example, will be exhibiting at Smart Automation in Vienna for the first time. Rainer Ostermann, Country Manager of Festo Austria, is impressed by the trade fair concept: "After a long absence from Vienna as a trade fair location, we are now taking part in this automation platform - with a new stand concept and competent contacts who are ready for the use cases of the future." In addition to Festo, Sick, Lenze, Eaton and Murrelektronik will also be on board for the first time at Smart in Vienna. A total of around 160 exhibitors will be presenting their products and services for industrial automation.

One day longer than Smart Automation and C4I, from May 15 to 18, the largest trade fair within the trade fair trio, Intertool, invites you to visit. Around 250 companies from the industrial manufacturing sector will be presenting themselves to trade visitors. Exhibition Director Eigner: "We are very pleased about the unbroken high level of exhibitor interest. We are almost fully booked."

Together with the equally densely occupied Smart Automation and the new C4I, this demonstrates the importance of Austria's manufacturing industry as an extremely important economic sector.

For the first time, tool manufacturers Paul Horn and Heller Werkzeugmaschinen are coming to Vienna with their own exhibition stands. The wide range of industrial production technology will be complemented by industry giants such as DMG Mori, Trumpf and Precisa.

Congresses and forums complete the Industry Week

A number of events round off the trade fair program. On the first day of the trade fair, the "Skip Forward Conference", a platform for exchanging cross-industry digitalization strategies as part of the C4I, will shed light on issues relating to the transformation of industries and companies through digital processes. Eigner: "This is where we discuss what the digital transformation has already achieved in different industries and what other industries can learn from it. We will be able to present digitalization strategies from companies such as Porr, Erste Bank, Revolution Events, SAP, Kaspersky and Schärf in a concentrated load". The discussion rounds will be flanked by high-caliber presentations.

The 6th IoT Forum CEE on May 16 and 17, 2018 will bring together key industries from Central Europe: Industry leaders will provide information on the latest IoT innovations. The events will be rounded off by the Austrian 3D Printing Forum, which will take an in-depth look at issues relating to additive manufacturing and will also address questions on application, research and simulation. am
