Ergonomics coach with seal of approval

The design of healthy workplaces promotes economic efficiency. Ergonomics is at the heart of this. Some Krieg Workflex specialists have been trained as certified ergonomics coaches in order to provide better advice on what optimal workplace systems should look like.

Incapacity for work is a setback for many people, and companies also have to struggle with it: the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) estimates the economic production losses at 76 billion euros, which reduces the German gross value added by 136 billion euros. The Institute for Health and Ergonomics (IGR), which operates nationwide and is based in Nuremberg, has set itself the task of bringing the topic of healthy working into companies and authorities and making people aware of it in the long term. The area of training and education plays a prominent role in this. Manufacturers of ergonomic products in particular are trained as multipliers and ambassadors and awarded a certificate as an ergonomics coach.

Krieg opted for this additional qualification: "As experts in workplace systems, we have been dealing with ergonomics for a long time. But the subject area is broad, so we wanted to expand and update our knowledge," explains Managing Director Andreas Krieg. The course provides orientation and insights, opens up background information and provides practical assistance. Participants learn about the importance of ergonomics in production and manufacturing workstations and what changes can be made to enable healthy working positions. Krieg: "We used our own workstation systems for the training so that we could learn the content in a way that was as suitable as possible for everyday use and practice its practical application at the same time. In the company, we then looked at tried-and-tested workstations together with the trainers and carried out the ergonomics practice check according to new criteria."

Bending, lifting, carrying, holding, pulling, standing: The application and assessment of various techniques is just as much a part of the training as answers to the challenges in the open factory halls and knowledge about sitting as the starting point for ergonomics. Height-adjustable work tables, ideal reach spaces, multiple shelf levels - all of these contribute to the best ergonomic solutions. But factors such as noise, air and light also play a role, and the social context is just as relevant.

Krieg is now available to its customers as a manufacturer and consultant: The workplace specialists with additional qualifications as ergonomics coaches can analyze, advise, develop and implement existing and planned workstations in companies. as
