Logimat: Complete solutions for storage and retrieval machines

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Save time and energy, gain security

The demands on handling performance in the logistics sector are constantly increasing. To master these challenges, modular storage and retrieval machines in a modular system for pallets, containers or small parts are a decisive success factor. With the Movi-C modular automation system, SEW-Eurodrive provides the right complete automation solution for this.

Innovative solutions for storage and retrieval machines from SEW-Eurodrive help to meet the increasing requirements for energy efficiency and safety in intralogistics. With its Movi-C modular automation system, the Bruchsal-based company provides a complete solution for automation tasks in order to implement standardized single or multi-axis applications and customer-specific solutions. The implementation of particularly complex motion control applications is also possible. The modular system includes all the necessary automation components, from the software for planning, commissioning and operation to the electronic control and regulation components and the geared motor. Movi-C can be fully integrated into all automation concepts. Thanks to the Movilink DDI single-cable technology, the coordinated system components only require one digital interface.

The Movikit software modules significantly reduce commissioning times. Several of them are used in a stacker crane: Movikit StackerCrane effiDrive, Movikit MultiAxisController and Movikit Positioning. The Movikit AntiSway module helps to stabilize moving stacker cranes so that mast vibrations and oscillations are reduced to a minimum and there are no time delays in the storage and retrieval process. This also protects the mechanics.

Movisafe safety technology enables a safe position in conjunction with ramp monitoring. This creates a safe area. Together with a safety brake, mechanical buffers can be saved.

SEW-Eurodrive's power and energy management system for industrial drives, which was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Environmental Technology Prize, complements the Movi-C portfolio. It can be used to recover energy, store it temporarily and make it available to reduce peak loads. This reduces energy consumption and at the same time contributes to higher system availability.
