Bluhm helps with the production of protective masks
The company Filtration, an expert in nonwovens and filters, converted part of its production to the manufacture of protective masks within a week. The printer required to mark the masks was supplied by Bluhm.
As an expert in nonwovens and filters, Filtration Group is predestined to produce respiratory masks in times of coronavirus. "That's why we converted part of our production to the manufacture of protective masks within just one week," explains Gunnar Halden, President FG Industrial. "The printer required to mark the masks was provided to us quickly and unbureaucratically by the marking provider Bluhm Systeme. That was a great help!" he says happily.
30,000 masks labeled per week
Filtration now produces 30,000 masks per week in Öhringen, Baden-Württemberg. Their filter medium, which has been slightly modified specifically for this purpose, offers a high filtration efficiency to protect against droplet infections. The so-called "FG DropSafeTM" everyday masks are made of 100 percent polyester fibers. They are printed with various information using a Markoprint integra Quadro thermal inkjet printer from Bluhm's portfolio. In addition to the manufacturer's logo, this includes plain text information such as the production date, "Made in Germany" notice and instructions for use.
"In times of crisis, quick and uncomplicated help is needed," says Gunnar Halden. "We had heard that Bluhm is currently helping out companies that are reaching their capacity limits due to the current situation by providing quick and uncomplicated marking technology."
Volker Bluhm, Managing Director of Bluhm, is pleased that he was able to help: "Many companies currently have to keep their production and logistics processes running at full speed. Downtime and rejects must therefore be avoided even more urgently than usual." At the same time, the topics of labeling and counterfeit protection are more important than ever in view of the shortage of hygiene articles such as face masks and disinfectants.
"We also want to make our contribution to maintaining the country's supply situation in these crisis-ridden times. That's why we are offering fast and unbureaucratic help for companies and retailers when it comes to coding and marking technology," adds Volker Bluhm. From now on, affected companies can borrow equipment for the direct marking of products, such as inkjet printing systems or laser markers, from Bluhm at short notice. Bluhm is also making various label printers and print-dispense systems for shipping boxes or labeling pallets available immediately. as
