Intec and Z 2019
Young skilled workers meet industry
As part of the Intec and Z trade fair duo, the "Skilled Workers' Day 2019 - young professionals meet industry" will be held at the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) on February 8. The Saxony Mechanical Engineering Innovation Association VEMASinnovativ is organizing the Skilled Workers Day for the seventh time together with Leipziger Messe.
This year, Industrieverein Sachsen 1828 e.V. is participating in the organization of the platform for the first time. Students, trainees and vocational school pupils with an (engineering) technical background have the opportunity to gain a closer insight into the innovations in the industry and make contact with potential employers at the event.
"Maintaining and expanding the competitiveness of Saxony's economy remains a key challenge when it comes to securing a sustainable supply of skilled workers. For this reason, VEMASinnovativ traditionally organizes a Skilled Workers' Day to coincide with the Intec and Z trade fairs. The aim of the event is to get school pupils and students in particular interested in technical professions and to offer exhibiting companies and institutions an uncomplicated opportunity to make contact with potential employees," summarizes Lars Georgi, Head of Network Management at the Saxony Mechanical Engineering Innovation Network VEMASinnovativ.

Afterwards, a job fair offers the opportunity for companies and prospective specialists to make contact in an uncomplicated manner. Around 20 companies and research institutions from Saxony and Central Germany - including Hiersemann Prozessautomation GmbH, Heitec AG, N+P Informationssysteme GmbH, Profiroll Technologies GmbH, IMM electronics GmbH and Chemnitz University of Technology - will be taking part.
The companies can exchange ideas with potential employees and present themselves individually to the next generation of industry professionals. Students, trainees and vocational school pupils with an (engineering) technical background can find out about current job and internship vacancies as well as topics for final theses and get to know potential future employers from the metalworking industry and supplier sector.
