WorldStar Packaging Award to ebm papst
For the second time in a row, Sebastian Gruber, packaging engineer at ebm-papst in Mulfingen, received the WorldStar Packaging Award in the "Transport" category.
Gruber's idea of optimizing a two-part packaging for wall ring axial fans and designing it in one piece was honoured with the packaging award. This significantly reduces the packaging material (corrugated cardboard) and assembly times. In concrete terms, this results in material savings of 30% and a 48% reduction in set-up time.
Last fall, the ebm-papst employee received an award in the "Economic Efficiency" category at the German Packaging Awards for his idea of "transport stacking corners for industrial fans". In this way, he again qualified for the WorldStar Packaging Award.
For the award ceremony, Gruber traveled to Australia together with Mario Kurz, packaging consultant for ebm-papst supplier Mondi, where the official award ceremony took place this year.
Sebastian Gruber: "I am delighted about the repeated success at the world's most important award in the packaging industry. The award is a great acknowledgement of our work. At the 2018 award ceremony, I also had another great opportunity to talk to 'packaging colleagues' from all over the world. That was very interesting and helpful." kp
