ZwickRoell builds Training Center

A clear commitment to the location: the testing machine manufacturer ZwickRoell is building a training center for training and further education at its headquarters in Ulm for around 11 million euros.

In addition to training, it will also house the further training area for Sales & Service. Equipped with the latest digital technology, the Training Center offers innovative ways of imparting knowledge. The 3-storey building with around 2100 square meters of floor space is scheduled for completion this December. The official starting signal for the construction work has now been given with the ground-breaking ceremony by the management and members of the two owner families.

In future, the new Training Center will bundle ZwickRoell's training in the areas of mechanical training workshop, electrical training workshop and materials testing under one roof. It will also house the junior company - a practical company project for around 100 ZwickRoell trainees and students - where they learn about company processes and entrepreneurial contexts, produce their own products and organize and run events. "With the centralized training center and the modern premises, we are creating a perfect learning
perfect learning environment that promotes efficient processes and the development of a strong sense of community. In doing so, we are realizing the training of tomorrow by focusing on the application of new technologies and learning concepts. Short distances and improving the visibility of our training were other important points for us. This will not only increase the quality of our training, but will also have a profound effect on the motivation and commitment of our trainees," emphasizes Amelie Ruchti, ZwickRoell Training Manager.

Highly qualified workforce strengthens market position

In addition, training courses for the International Sales & Service Training division will be held in the new building in future. A total of four rooms are planned for this purpose in order to optimally combine theoretical and practical knowledge transfer on static and dynamic testing machines. Anna Ruhland, member of the Supervisory Board at ZwickRoell and daughter of majority shareholder Dr. Jan Stefan Roell: "With the construction of the Training Center, we are sending a clear signal: we firmly believe in the importance of training and further education for the future of our company. The construction is also a clear commitment to our location and shows our regional responsibility and roots. Last but not least, it secures a highly qualified workforce in the long term and strengthens our position as a leading employer in the region."

Partial use already during the testXpo trade fair

The Training Center is being built in the immediate center of the ZwickRoell company campus. The roof of the building will be equipped with a photovoltaic system that can generate up to 14.4 megawatt hours of green electricity to make ZwickRoell's on-site power supply more self-sufficient. By the time of this year's testXpo, the trade fair for testing technology in October, at least the first floor of the future Training Center will already be partially usable as an exhibition space. Final completion is planned for the end of December.
