Hummel invests 35 million euros in the Denzlingen site

Hummel AG is pressing ahead with the expansion of its main plant in Denzlingen. After completing the planning phase, the company has now submitted the building application for the project. A total of around 35 million euros is to be invested in the expansion of the site.

The project comprises two new buildings and the modernization of the entire plant with a state-of-the-art system for the recovery and treatment of operating materials. With its help, the lubricating and cooling oil required for metal processing is to be recovered from the exhaust air and reprocessed. According to the company, this will save around 1,000 liters of lubricating oil per year.

Production is bundled in Denzlingen

A central component of the construction project is the construction of a new production hall. A new facility for electroplating nickel is to be installed there after its planned completion in 2027. The plant is equipped with systems for resource-saving heat and wastewater recovery.

At the same time, Hummel is planning to relocate the turning and milling departments, which were previously located in Waldkirch, to Denzlingen. Production is thus to be bundled and centralized at a modern location.

Construction of the 6,500 square meter extension is scheduled to start in August 2026.

Focus on sustainability and competitiveness

"By submitting the building application, we are taking the next step towards sustainably developing and updating the production infrastructure at our headquarters in Denzlingen," explains Markus Biller, Project Manager at Hummel AG.

The company combines the investment not only with technical and organizational improvements, but also with long-term economic goals. "Our investment project secures jobs in Germany in the long term and makes a valuable contribution to the regional economy. This will increase our long-term competitiveness and promote our company's targeted international growth," adds Patrick Kemper, COO/CFO of Hummel AG.
