A topsy-turvy world: first the fake, then the original! Three months before the release date of the Volkswagen navigation SD card in version V16, Itprocars was already selling counterfeit SD cards online - at almost half the price. Via its eBay store with top ratings (99.8% positive), the company is supplying an SD card with a fake V16 sticker in a case modeled on the original, but also fake, using the Volkswagen and VW brands in a circle.
The provider admits the trademark infringements but refuses to issue a cease-and-desist declaration with a penalty clause. Bold, but unsuccessful: the Polish counterfeiter offers Volkswagen a payment of 2,000 euros in return for the cessation of legal action. Further legal steps are planned. The counterfeit VW SD cards will no longer be offered - but fakes from other well-known car manufacturers will continue to be offered.
