In October 2015, he took over as CEO of the technology group from his father Dietmar Harting, having been responsible for the Connectivity & Networks division since 2008. Philip Harting has been a member of the Auma Management Board since June 2008. "Harting has been an exhibitor at the Hannover Messe since the very beginning in 1947. That's why I know how important trade fairs are for long-term customer relationships, even in times of digitalization. Trade fairs are the medium for marketing," says Philip Harting. "And they are still incredibly important for Germany as an export nation."

The Association of the German Trade Fair Industry consists of 74 members: 38 associations from the business and service sectors and 36 trade fair companies. The Auma represents the interests of exhibitors, organizers and visitors to trade fairs in Germany. Founded in 1907, it is one of the oldest German associations in the service industry. In addition to its membership of the International Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), Auma is also involved in numerous foreign trade committees in Germany.
