Stefan Schönegger becomes Chief Technology Officer
Stefan Schönegger succeeds Florian Schneeberger as CTO of ABB Machine Automation (B&R), who has been Division President of the Machine Automation Division and CEO of B&R Industrial Automation since November 1, 2025.
Schönegger has held various positions at the Machine Automation Division since 2006. He began his career as a project manager for PLC and control systems and held various management positions in the following years, including Head of Product Management. Since 2022, he has headed the global 'Controls' product group.
"I am looking forward to my new role at B&R. Together with our teams, we will continue to develop our technological focus in the areas of automation, software and autonomous industrial solutions. Open ecosystems and partnerships will play a central role in this," says Schönegger.
Stefan Schönegger has a degree in electronics and business administration from the Vienna University of Applied Sciences and a degree in renewable energy systems from the Vienna University of Technology.
