Sieb & Meyer expands production capacities in Lüneburg

After a successful financial year in 2025, the development at Sieb & Meyer AG from Lüneburg is continuing in the first quarter of 2026. The company is responding to the continued high capacity utilization by expanding its production space by a total of 1,800 m². Two halls will create additional space in the short term and serve as a temporary solution until the completion of a planned new building in Lüneburg.

In the second quarter of 2026, Sieb & Meyer will relocate parts of its mechanical production to an external production hall. At the same time, final assembly and testing of the multilevel drive controllers will be outsourced to another location. Both halls are located in Lüneburg and expand the available production area by a total of 1,800 m².

The logistical connection is provided by an internal shuttle service between the locations. Employees are specifically deployed between the divisions in order to safeguard existing processes and technical expertise. The technical infrastructure is also being adapted accordingly: Production facilities have been relocated and supplemented with additional systems.

The measure is intended as a temporary solution. In the future, the outsourced areas will be brought back together as part of a planned new building. "We expect a further increase in turnover in 2026 due to the ongoing AI boom," explains Torsten Blankenburg, CTO at Sieb & Meyer. "The additional space will give us the flexibility we need to respond to the increased demand and drive forward our structural plans at the same time."

The current development is related to the 2025 financial year, in which demand in the control and drive electronics segment increased significantly. Annual sales rose from EUR 55.7 million to EUR 122 million. This was primarily due to global investments in AI infrastructure, which led to increased demand for highly complex printed circuit boards. As a result, investments in PCB drilling machines also increased. In this environment, a large number of machines were equipped with CNC controls from Sieb & Meyer.

The drive electronics division is also experiencing continuous growth, which has now also led to the outsourcing of final assembly and testing of the multilevel drive controllers.

The company develops and produces control and drive electronics and employs around 380 people at its Lüneburg site. The solutions are used in high-speed motors and generators, for example in machine tools, turbo compressors and blowers. The company also focuses on motion controllers and servo amplifiers for highly dynamic rotary and linear drives as well as CNC controls for PCB processing.
