Special machine manufacturer MartinMechanic has developed a robot-supported system for the assembly, torque testing and marking of two interlocking gears, which completes all operations in 40 seconds.
A Scara robot inserts the first gear into the assembly station. Here it is secured with a fixing arm. The robot then picks up the spring, tensions it and inserts it into the first gearwheel. It then reaches for the second gear wheel to join it to the first and lock it with a bayonet catch. The torque is checked by turning to the left and right. If it meets the target specifications, the gears are turned back to their starting position and locked with the bolt. At the laser marking station, the components are marked with a logo, article and order number, production date, the recorded torque and a QR code. Gear wheels that are not in order are placed on a separate discharge conveyor by the robot, disassembled and reworked by the worker. as
