CT data analyses in 3D
Software solution for volume visualization
With GOM Volume Inspect, measurement data from any computed tomography (CT) scanner can be analyzed. Users benefit from an innovative volume visualization and a variety of inspection functions for volume data.
Among other things, the software provides detailed information on geometries, cavities and internal structures of components as well as assembly situations. The otherwise complex analysis of volume data is significantly simplified.
GOM Volume Inspect enables complete CT data analyses in 3D to assess component quality and optimize the manufacturing process. The software uses an intelligent data management concept that facilitates the handling of large volume data packages and accelerates evaluation processes.
GOM Volume Inspect contains a powerful function for volume representations that visualizes the complete component with its internal structures. In addition, the user can cut the object at any point and view it layer by layer. In this way, even the smallest details can be inspected and detailed information about the component quality can be obtained.
The software automatically detects volume defects in components, such as blowholes. By checking the defect dimensions, including volume, diameter and distance to the outer shell, it enables high-precision quality statements to be made about the component.
With GOM Volume Inspect, CT volume data can also be evaluated dimensionally: surface-based evaluations, the inspection of shape and position tolerances or geometric dimensions on the outside of the component are just as possible as the geometric inspection of internal structures. GOM Volume Inspect guides the user through the entire analysis process and summarizes all measurement results in a clear report with a single mouse click - including snapshots, images, tables, diagrams, texts and graphics.
GOM Volume Inspect can also be used to load volume data from any number of components into a project, for example to carry out trend analyses. This automated comparison is particularly useful for employees in quality assurance who regularly measure components in order to derive a quality trend from the measurement data. The function also enables a part-to-part comparison, for example to compare identical components from different suppliers.
Many of the volume inspection features included in GOM Volume Inspect are available to users free of charge, including 3D volume rendering, 2D volume section display, and defect detection and visualization. The free version of the software can be downloaded here: www.gom.com/goto/69xn
GOM Volume Inspect is part of GOM's new software platform GOM Inspect Suite, which covers the entire workflow from 3D scanning to the measurement report and thus supports the user in his work in the best possible way. pb
