Camera-assisted laser marking with CPM

The use of vision systems for image capture and processing is an important tool for process control and optimization. ACI offers customized camera solutions to suit the variety of objects.

CPM (Capturing, Positioning, Marking) from ACI is used for camera-supported, user-friendly positioning of markings on components, workpieces and objects. CPM is available in two versions.

CPM external - camera for capturing a live or single image of the marking area

Depending on the application requirements and system configuration, the entire marking area or a smaller high-resolution area is captured externally by the CPM camera and rectified in perspective. The individual image is stored as a single image in the graphics area of the Magic Mark marking software and used to position the layout.

CPM internal - creation of an overall image from high-resolution individual images

With CPM internal, the camera is coupled into the beam path of the laser head and captures high-resolution individual images. These individual images are then combined into a high-resolution overall image (max. 14 x 14 mm) ('stitching'). CPM internal is ideally suited for micro-marking and trimming applications.
