Heavy-duty machining of long shaft parts
Yamazaki Mazak developed its Slant Turn series of turning centers specifically for the heavy-duty machining of large parts for shipbuilding, the energy industry and construction machinery, among others.
The Slant turn 500, 550 and 600 models offer a machining area with a maximum swing diameter of 1,400 mm and a maximum machining diameter of 910 mm and are available in four bed lengths per model: 1000U, 2000U, 3000U and 4000U, with the longest being suitable for 4 m component lengths. The main spindle is designed with a torque of 7,000 Nm and an output of 45 kW across all series.
