During the manufacture of seals for vacuum cups, chemical components and plasticizers are added to the material, which evaporate on contact with glass or trigger chemical reactions with the glass coating. Friction damage, depending on the suction cup sealing lip and the contact surface (grooves or nubs), can also occur when handling glass panes with vacuum cups. If these marks are not removed immediately, they will become visible every time the panes are vaporized.

By using the MTC suction plate covers from Eurotech, which were specially developed for this problem, suction marks on sensitive surfaces are prevented. The manufacturer produces them from an oil- and silicone-free polyethylene, which - as long as it is in good general condition - leaves no detectable marks on glass. The tear-resistant, adaptable and breathable MTC absorbent sheet covers do not shed, are antistatic and can be washed and sewn. Thanks to the use of a sewn-in elastic band, the user can simply pull the covers over the seals. Eurotech assures that the MTCs remain tear-resistant both when wet and dry. Thanks to the special fiber structure of the material, the tear resistance is not lost even if scratches occur. The covers are particularly light.

Attention: Holding force decreases!
When using suction plate covers, however, a reduction in the coefficient of friction should be taken into account; this value can vary depending on the seal geometry. The holding force is reduced by a few percent during horizontal transportation. The loss of holding force in vertical transport is approximately 50 percent. The user can compensate for this by using additional suction plates or by using suction plates with a larger diameter. If the user wants or needs to use suction plate covers, Eurotech takes the reduced holding force into account from the outset when planning the project and designs the system accordingly.
