Handling of curved sheets
Fipa has added two new bell suction cup series to its range of sheet metal suction cups. They enable the handling of curved sheets with short cycle times.
An exemplary application for the new bell suction cups are feeder systems for press lines in the automotive industry. The manufacturer offers the new bell suction cups in a round (SM-G series) and oval design (SM-OG series). The oval version is used in confined spaces and is suitable for handling elongated workpieces such as stiffening and reinforcing sheets, profiles, tubes or flat workpieces with webs. According to the company, a flexible sealing lip ensures virtually leak-free suction even on strongly curved sheet metal parts. Both series are LABS-free in accordance with VDMA 24364 test class A1 and are therefore suitable for surfaces that are subsequently painted or coated. The round bell suction cups are available in five sizes, the oval bell suction cups in three sizes. Various connection threads are also available. as
