Blechexpo and Schweisstec 2023
Focus on sustainability and automation
The 16th Blechexpo, together with the 9th Schweisstec from November 7 to 10, 2023, will be the meeting place for sheet metal processing.
Nine halls of the Stuttgart trade fair grounds are fully booked, the organizer Schall Messen announced back in the spring. The double trade fair covers complete process sequences in modern sheet metal processing. "Huge interest in the exhibition, a lot of dynamism in the industry, important topics for the future," says Georg Knauer, Project Manager of the trade fair double, summarizing the current mood. "Overall, it can be observed that the automation of processes in sheet metal processing is being pushed even further," he explains. "Methods with data-supported artificial intelligence algorithms and machine learning are increasingly being used in production processes in order to optimize processes and reduce delivery times as a result. Efficient sheet metal processing requires flexible machine tools, modern software and virtual simulation. We will see more of these topics at the trade fair. The challenge is sustainability - in the field of sheet metal processing, this means optimal workpiece utilization and avoiding material waste."
The Blechexpo/Schweisstec theme portfolio includes process technologies, laser technology, fully automated robot-based sheet metal processing machines, tools and systems for punching, bending, folding and forming as well as micro water jet cutting technologies. Last but not least, the current shortage of qualified workers in production is driving further automation in all areas, for example in material handling and machine operation. Thanks to the progressive integration of production data, the planning, execution and analysis of production processes are becoming more efficient.
