Intelligent energy management
Eaton presents new energy storage solution
Eaton is launching the new xStorage Hybrid energy storage system to simplify the energy transition in residential and commercial buildings. The intelligent energy management company presented xStorage Hybrid at Intersolar, the world's largest trade fair for the solar industry, which took place in Munich from June 19 to 21.
xStorage Hybrid consists of a variety of single-phase and multi-phase battery systems that can be combined with Eaton's pre-wired distribution boards and power protection boxes. The system balances the generation of renewable energy from installations such as photovoltaic panels with the energy consumption in the grid. This increases energy availability, reduces carbon dioxide emissions and energy bills while providing a backup power source. The benefits of xStorage Hybrid for installers include the ability to customize the product to their customers' needs, as well as remote firmware updates and battery management.
Equipped for future energy requirements
xStorage Hybrid is suitable for both new build and retrofit projects and supports compliance with regulations on carbon reduction and energy consumption. In the European Union, this includes upcoming regulations based on the recently adopted Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
The use of xStorage Hybrid with power management controllers and pre-wired distribution boards helps to put Eaton's "Buildings as a Grid" approach to the energy transition into practice. This involves transforming buildings into energy centers that are better prepared for future energy requirements, including the operation of charging stations. This in turn is part of Eaton's "Everything as a Grid" strategy, which creates flexible energy systems for the future. This includes accelerated decarbonization, increased resilience, cost reduction and new revenue opportunities.
