New institute management at the Fraunhofer IVV
Prof. Andrea Büttner took over as Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV in Freising on November 1, 2019.
In recent years, the internationally recognized scientist has already established the Product Effect business unit and the Analytical Sensory Science department at the Fraunhofer IVV and was also deputy head of the institute. She also set up a research team for chemical sensory research at the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, where she has held the Chair of Aroma and Smell Research since 2017.
The Fraunhofer IVV is a leader in applied research in the fields of food, packaging, product effect, processing machines, recycling and the environment. The institute's focus and future topics are the development of new, alternative raw materials and the development of resource- and energy-saving manufacturing and processing methods. Another focus is on securing, recording and optimizing sensory, technofunctional and biological-chemical product quality along the process chain from raw materials to the product. From November 1, the institute will now be managed by Prof. Dr. Andrea Büttner together with the previous head of the institute, Prof. Dr. Horst-Christian Langowski. as
