Messe Frankfurt is one of the first trade fair organizers to announce that it will not be holding its own physical trade fairs in Frankfurt. The regulation applies up to and including March 2021. Unlike in China, where 13 trade fairs have already taken place again since the start of the crisis, such projects are currently not feasible in Germany due to the current course of the pandemic, according to the official announcement.

Although Messe Frankfurt is confident that it can provide a safe environment for business meetings at the Frankfurt exhibition grounds, the renewed tightening of official and, above all, internal travel restrictions is leading to increasing uncertainty among trade fair customers. Wolfgang Marzin, President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt: "Our early decision is important for our customers, as investments for trade fair participations must now be triggered. Messe Frankfurt will continue to consistently place the interests of the exhibiting industries at the center of its decisions in close cooperation with its customers."

For these reasons, Frankfurter Messe is rescheduling the trade fair spring. So far, the following trade fairs are affected: Heimtextil, Texchtextil, Texprocess, Ambiente, Paperworld, Christmasworld, Creativeworld, ISH.

It remains to be seen whether other trade fair companies will follow this decision.
