Kegelmann Technik celebrates 30 years of 3D printing
30 years ago, on August 1, 1989, Stephan Kegelmann founded the company Kegelmann Technik in Hanau am Main with the purchase of a stereolithography machine.
Stephan Kegelmann is one of the pioneers of additive manufacturing in Europe. In 1989, he bought the SLA machine no. 5 from Chuck Hull, the inventor of 3D printing. If 1986, when Chuck Hull filed his patent US4575330A entitled "Apparatus for production of three-dimensional objects by stereolithography", was the big bang of additive manufacturing, the founding of Kegelmann Technik would correspond to the time of the formation of the first stars in the universe.
Today, Stephan Kegelmann and Kegelmann Technik still focus on the additive manufacturing of models, prototypes, tools and end products made of plastic and metal. "Over the last thirty years, I have seen many 3D printing technologies come and go, and we have also invested in some of them. However, only those that focused on customer benefits and were not in love with their own technology have stood the test of time," summarizes Kegelmann.
Kegelmann Technik is fully integrated into the value creation process for many customers and plays a key role in the successful development and design of innovative products. Throughout the entire additive manufacturing process chain, from construction and design to the model and near-series prototypes, Kegelmann Technik's current workforce of over 120 employees focuses on process quality, flexibility and speed. as
