Training center in Saudi Arabia
Endress+Hauser opens calibration and training center
Endress+Hauser has invested around three million euros in a modern calibration and training center in the Saudi industrial city of Jubail. The aim is to strengthen direct contact with customers in the Middle East and support the country's economic development.
Saudi Arabia wants to expand its private sector and become less dependent on crude oil production: This is what the "Vision 2030" envisages. "Inspired by this vision, we are opening the new calibration and training center," said Mohammed Abdellah, Managing Director of Endress+Hauser Saudi Arabia, during the official inauguration ceremony. "With the new center, we are helping to achieve the desired reforms and can also increase local value creation by offering local solutions."
The training center includes a classroom with interactive technology, a fully equipped workshop and a fieldbus training laboratory. Practice-oriented training courses are designed to impart knowledge in state-of-the-art measurement technology and process control, as required in the manufacture of petrochemical products or in the energy, water and wastewater sectors, for example. Young Saudi engineers and students can use the facility to acquire technical expertise in line with the latest international standards. Local customers and partners can also expand their knowledge.
The new 2,700 square meter building also houses a modern calibration center with the only gravimetric flow calibration facility in the region. From here, the company offers manufacturer-independent calibrations for measuring devices. Calibrations can also be carried out directly at the customer's premises to save costs and reduce downtime. "It is important to us to be able to respond flexibly to our customers and thus guarantee optimum support," says Matthias Altendorf, CEO of the Group.
The new calibration and training center is part of the company's strategy: Endress+Hauser operates worldwide and is constantly expanding its international locations. For almost two decades, Endress+Hauser was represented in Saudi Arabia by the local sales company Anasia Industrial Agencies, before strengthening its market presence in 2012 through a joint venture. Today, the Group employs 50 people in Saudi Arabia and is strengthening its presence in the important Saudi market and throughout the Middle East with this new investment.
