Interaction of the systems
Automation competence center at Perschmann
With an investment of more than half a million euros, Perschmann is expanding its world of tools at its headquarters in Braunschweig. In the new competence center for automation, customers will be able to experience the combination of a high-quality Hermle machining center and automated assembly using the ZeroClamp automation solution.
The solution on offer is aimed at companies that focus on small series or medium-sized series production in the field of machining. The first presentations to customers took place on November 14 and 15.
"It is an investment in the future of the site in order to optimally position ourselves to meet the requirements of our customers in the course of digitalization and Industry 4.0," says Christian Wagner, Head of Machining. "Customers can see for themselves and experience first-hand the performance that is possible through the combination of modern milling strategies, the quality tools we offer and high-performance processing machines with automated loading. This presentation of automation in the interaction of systems in the field of machining is unique for a tool system provider in Germany."
The new system enables the company to optimally implement complex components and customer-specific application requirements. Specific application examples include the machining of complicated shapes, free-form shapes or components that need to be produced as completely as possible in one clamping operation using 5-sided machining.
In order to meet the requirements of increasing automation and digitalization in the production of complex milling components, the company opted for a machining center from Hermle. Optimal machine performance at the cutting edge of technology was relevant for this decision. The detailed criteria included performance data, precision, reliability, durability and long-term accuracy, service competence and a very good price-performance ratio. In addition, Hermle has been a strategic partner of Perschmann for several years. The company regularly holds customer events at the Hermle Center in Kassel. Both sides benefit from the investment decision: Hermle receives an additional "satellite" to showcase its technology and Perschmann uses the milling machine for customer demonstrations of its own quality tools. In doing so, the tool logistics specialist responds to customers' specific processes and workpieces. These can be simulated or manufactured precisely according to customer specifications using the new machining center. The long-standing partner ZeroClamp completes the system with the pneumatic zero-point clamping system and automated part loading. This ensures maximum flexibility and process reliability with minimum changeover, set-up and non-productive times. The automation solution from ZeroClamp is specially designed to meet the requirements of medium-sized companies.
