Overload limitation and collision protection
With the SKB type, Jakob Antriebstechnik has a compact and powerful generation of safety clutches for overload limitation and collision protection for indirect drives in its range.
The series is characterized by high disengagement torques, compact design, simple installation thanks to a clamping ring hub, high concentricity and bearing load as well as simple adjustment of the disengagement torque.
The robust ball cage is of great importance for "disengagement impacts" at high speeds; the grease-lubricated disengagement mechanism is protected from heavy soiling or washout by a labyrinth seal. Furthermore, the SKB series is equipped with clamping ring hubs that allow large bore and shaft diameters. If required, the SKB safety coupling can be extended with metal bellows or elastomer coupling attachments. A modular system enables production in cost-effective batch sizes and short delivery times.
