Electric universal rotary unit

Andreas Mühlbauer,

ERT series equipped for the future

The flat, high-performance rotary units from Schunk are growing with a fourth size and an extended range of variants. The measuring system interfaces now also include the Hiperface DSL digital real-time interface. Options such as protection class IP54, UL certification and an electric holding brake enable dynamic handling processes in demanding areas from e-mobility to life science.

The ERT series is characterized by a flat design and enables precise and flexible rotary movements. The units can be used as rotary tables for components, assemblies and tools, but also as rotary modules on gantry solutions, as rotary indexing tables or high-precision positioning modules. The direct drive by a permanently excited torque motor guarantees precise, highly dynamic movements. Thanks to an absolute encoder, a repeat accuracy of 0.01° is guaranteed. Short reaction times and high torques are further advantages of the ERT series. In addition, a large central bore allows cables and hoses to be fed through or even a camera to be used. Even when using an optional electric brake, which is controlled directly via the controller, the low overall height remains unchanged.
