Installation concepts based on Profibus reach their limits with a high degree of automation and short throughput times. With Profinet, an established technology is available. Murrelektronik offers plug & play devices for Profinet networks that enable the integration of IO-Link using IODD on board technology.

Conversion from Profibus to Profinet

According to the company, the changeover is particularly easy with the Cube system: with this modular installation solution with a large number of interfaces at sensor/actuator level, the bus node is simply replaced. The Profinet function is set on the Solid67 fieldbus module. It is equipped with Profinet version 2.3. The modules provide eight IO-Link slots in the immediate vicinity of the process, but also integrate classic IOs into the system. Murrelektronik also offers additional fieldbus modules and powerful Profinet switches.
